The Biaka university institute of Buea churned out some 920 students recently. The students graduated from the departments of Nursing, Midwifery, Laboratory Sciences, Nutrition and Dietetics, Radiology and also from the school of management. The students graduated with Bachelor’s degrees and HND Diplomas awarded in the graduation ceremony that celebrated the twin batches of 2016 and 2017.
The January 25 2019 graduation ceremony organised on the campus of BUIB, provided a singular occasion for the vice-chancellor Dr Francisca Biaka to pay homage to the numerous partners and sponsors, thanks to whom she said the institution has been able to stay on path of investment and innovation. The institution that enjoys mentorship from the university of Buea, she acknowledged has met the requirements for the transition from a high institute (St Francis school of health sciences) to a university institute (Biaka university institute of Buea).this the vice chancellor affirmed has been achieved through the successful restructuring of their academic programs in respect to the laid down procedures.
The highlights of the ceremony included an Academic Discourse by Professor Charles Ngiewih Teke; Vice Dean in the Faculty of Arts University of Buea.The guest speaker’s motivational talk was tailored towards giving the graduates the guide to enable fit into the ever changing society with its evolving demands. The talk added meaning to the call by the VC of BUIB Dr Francisca Biaka who recommended that graduates” build an atmosphere of peace and love in their jobs”
