BUIB Holds 10th Senate Meeting

Students of Biaka university institute f Buea (BUIB) have their ears on the ground as they await the release of the first semester examinations for the 2021/2022 academic year. This anxiety is again triggered by the 10th senate meeting of BUIB which took place on Wednesday the 7th of April 2022 in the conference room of the university. The meeting aimed at approving undergraduate and postgraduate results of the school of Health Sciences and the School of Management Sciences. During the meeting chaired by the Vice Chancellor Dr. Mrs. Francisca Hongla Biaka, ,the senate approved these results while praising the office of Exams , the directors of Schools and close collaborators who ensured a hitch -free first semester examination session.
At the senate, the Deputy Vice Chancellor in charge of Academics and Research Prof. Fonkeng George called on lecturers to remain devoted as they carry out their work for the good of the students and the university at large. Senate members were equally reminded to take up the responsibility in ensuring that students are discipline on campus especially regarding their dressing and attitudes towards attending classes. Class attendance was reiterated to be an important aspect in the training of students and must be taken seriously by students as well as lecturers.
It was also noted that the School of Education will be taking their exams soon.
The first semester results for the 2021/2022 school year shall be made available to students in the hours ahead.

 University of Buea Visits BUIB’s School of Education.

A three person delegation led by the Deputy Vice Chancellor in charge of teaching, Professionalization and Development of ICTs at the university of Buea visited BUIB’s School of Education.

The visit took place on Saturday 12th March 2022 beginning at 10PM. Accompanied by Professor Endeley Margaret Nalova (Dean of the Faculty of Education) and Professor Lucy Ndip nee Ayamba (Deputy Vice-Chancellor in charge of Research, Cooperation and Relations with the Business World)

The visit was aimed at evaluating BUIB’s programs in the School of Education as well as infrastructures in place to adequately run the programs.

After a welcome address by BUIB’s Deputy Vice Chancellor in charge of Academics, Research and innovation professor Epah Fonkeng George, Dr Akom Delbert in the School of Education presented the programs to the team from the University of Buea.

The more than 30 programs were spread in three departments ranging from HND, B.Ed, Top- Up BSc. and Masters.

According to Dr Akom Delbert, the programs have been tailored to carter for contemporary needs in the society and BUIB has brought in a number of innovations to better address challenges in the field.

The team from UB appreciated Biaka University Institute of Buea for its innovation and added that, mentorship is partnership and both institutions are to learn from each other.

After the presentation of the programs, the delegation was taken for a guided tour of the campus where they visited modern classrooms, IT center, advance library, spacious learning environment and the new construction site.

The Head of the UB delegation Prof. Noel Alembong was visibly satisfied with the infrastructure and said he has no doubt in his mind that Biaka University institute of Buea will not falter in this venture.

The School of Education is one of the four schools accredited by the Ministry of Higher Education to be run by Biaka University.

Other Schools include; School of Health Sciences, School of Management Sciences and the newly approved School of Agriculture which will begin this 2022/2023 academic year.

‘Port Autonome de Douala’ opens its doors to BUIB students for internship placements

A memorandum of understanding has been signed between the Biaka University Institute of Buea-BUIB and the Port Autonome de Doualabetter known in its French acronym – PAD.

The MoU was signed on Tuesday February 8th 2022 at the campus of Biaka University Institute of Buea

The MoU is aimed at ensuring more students from Biaka University most especially from the school of Management Sciences, have the opportunity to carry out their academic internship at the Douala based port.

 To sign the MoU was Dr Mrs Francisca Hongla Epse Biaka-Vice Chancellor of Biaka University Institute of Buea, Professor Fonkeng Epah George-Deputy Vice Chancellor of Biaka University Institute of Buea in charge of Academics  and Research, Mr Tangsi Max-Director of the School of Management Sciences, Mr Otto Singe-Adviser to the Vice Chancellor of BUIB and the representative from Port Autonome de Douala Douala Mr.  Chechuma Banla, who is the Director of Human Resources.

The partnership comes to solidify the exceptional working relationship between the two institutions which has been existing for a while now

The Port Autonome de Douala has been playing host to BUIB’s students on internship especially in the field of logistics and supply chain management, Human Resource Management, Accounting, Health care management among others at both undergraduate and post graduate levels

Speaking during the brief ceremony which took place at Vice Chancellor’s office the representative of the Port Autonome de Douala had warmed words for the other BUIB students who have passed through this company during their internship programs.

He congratulated the University authorities for the wonderful job in training Cameroonians and adds that they will always stand ready to assist in the best way they can.
