BUIB: State Registered Nurses Project Defense:

Final year State Registered Nurses have exhibited mastery of their research projects during the first ever defense session organized nationwide in this department. The academic exercise which is one of the requirements for certification makes up 30% of the total certificate examination.

The defense which kicked off this 4th day of October 2022 is significant in the life of both students and the School of Health Sciences. For the student, it gives them a sense of understanding and accomplishment as they walk through to another stage in their career path. Lecturers on their part see this as an opportunity to assess the contribution made in the academic journey of the students.

Speaking to the students, Atanga Nsoh Esther noted that it has been three years of rigorous training at Biaka University Institute of Buea which has brought them to the success point. She expressed heartfelt gratitude to the lecturers who ensured the realization of their dreams.

According to some, the learning process has just started as they plan to take up their degree progamme this academic year. Others look forward to embracing the job market in the days ahead.

MINESUP Ranks BUIB 1st Best Private Higher Education Institution

As Cameroon strives for more professionalism in the education sector Biaka University Institute of Buea (BUIB) takes the lead and confirms its position as the best private higher education institution in Cameroon. Ranked as overall best institution nationwide at the 2022 Higher National Diploma examination HND, the Minister of State, Minister of Higher Education Prof. Jacques Fame Ndongo in a recent press release noted that the publication constitutes a source of emulation that can enable private higher education institutions to improve on their performance.

Topping the list on the HND general ranking of Group 0ne Institutions in Cameroon, this it should be noted is no surprise to Biaka University Institute of Buea which has been recorded over the years by the Ministry of Higher Education as one of the best in the country

The success of BUIB can be traced from the strength of its academic core, her conducive learning environment equipped with topnotch laboratories, a teaching hospital, simulation center, accommodating classrooms, her unquenchable quest for standards, a high level of discipline and above all her commitment in training students with the audacity to be different.

While BUIB continue to keep the flame of excellence burning in its School of Health Sciences, Management Sciences and the School of Education, the University is spreading its wings of quality training to two new schools –the School of Agricultural Sciences and the School of Engineering and Technology which kick-starts this academic year 2022/2023.

BUIB Holds 10th Senate

Second semester results for the 2021-2022 academic year have been approved for subsequent release in the days ahead. This was during the 10th Senate meeting of Biaka University Institute of Buea (BUIB) held on Friday 5th of August 2022 to deliberate on results presented by the different Schools:  School of Management Sciences, School of Education and the School of Health Sciences.

Chaired by the Registrar Dr. Mrs. Feh Mary the brilliant performance by students was commended as an indication of the efforts put in by the academic core during the academic year. Nevertheless, the deputy vice chancellor in charge of administration and finance Mr. Finjap John while appreciating lecturers and the entire staff body of BUIB for being productive, he cautioned the team not to rest on their laurels but to keep the standards high at all times as it is their responsibility to train a different breed of students with the audacity to be different.   This he reiterated must not be compromised for BUIB has and would always be dedicated in staying true to its mission.

During the senate meeting, members were reminded of the introduction of two new schools; the School of Agricultural Sciences and the School of Engineering and Technology which will kick start this academic year 2022-2023. The management of the University informed members that all is set for the quality training of students in these areas.

The second semester results for the 2021-2022 school year shall be made available to students in the days ahead.

Post Graduate Students Take on Second Semester Examinations.

Post graduate students at Biaka University Institute Of Buea  (BUIB) are currently sitting for the second semester exams of both the School of Management Sciences and the School of Health Sciences for the 2021/2022 school year.  The examination which started this 12th day of July 2022 is expected to run for a period of one week.

According to the deputy Vice Chancellor in charge of academic affairs and research Professor Fonkeng George, the quality of education passed onto these students cannot be questioned as the university ensured    that experienced and well trained lecturers with terminal degrees were available to teach students.

He added that during the period of classroom teaching, the university made flexible time tables that accommodated these students who are mostly workers that have come to improve on their professionalism. The training accorded them is job oriented and emphasizes the link with industries for practical knowledge he said. To facilitate hands on training, BUIB has entered into partnership with many industries including the Douala port authority amongst others.

Prof. Fonkeng added that BUIB is a reference point for excellence and in response to community demands, BUIB is opening its doors to receive students in the two new   schools; the School of Agriculture and the School of Engineering and Technology come this academic year 2022/2023.

It is worth noting that about 68 post graduate students are taking on the exams in their various discipline- management, marketing, logistics and supply chain management, and conflict, peace and humanitarian action among others.

On the other hand, MSc. programs written in the School of Health Sciences by some 95 post graduate students include Nursing, public health, pediatric nursing, mental health, nursing education, chemical pathology and more.

The post graduate exams are running simultaneously with undergraduate resist exams for 2021/2022 academic year.
